Luck Turns the Tables

Chapter 1 A Cheat

Sandra Walden carried a suitcase in a rundown courtyard in downtown Southwind City. The women's suit that she wore showed off her curves, perky butt, and her long legs ensconced in black pantyhose.

"Let's break up, Victor," she said. "You can't give me the life I want, and I can't bet my life's happiness on a worthless piece of trash like you! Let's end things here."

Victor Seaworth had a cigarette dangling from his lips as he looked at his girlfriend of three years. He couldn't help sighing to himself.

People always said a person's new partner could never compare to the last. It looked like he would have to treat the past three years as a waste of time!

Victor and Sandra were college mates. They hadn't dated during college, though. At the time, Sandra had dated Fred Young, also known as her true love. However, in their senior year, Fred had broken up with her because he wanted to head abroad to further his studies.

That night, Sandra sought Victor out in tears, asking whether he would be her boyfriend. He'd had a crush on her for four years and agreed without hesitation. They dated for the next three years, moving in together and even preparing for marriage.

Yet it was then that Fred returned to the country, and Sandra had become absent-minded. Victor had woken up several times in the middle of the night to see Sandra, who lay beside him in bed, secretly texting Fred.

Once, she'd come home drunk. She and Victor had been doing the deed when she'd called out Fred's name. So, Victor had long since known he and Sandra would break up one day. Sure enough, the day had finally arrived.

"Ha. It's only because your true love has returned to the country, isn't it? You just want to reconcile with Fred because he's rich now. I would be impressed if you could just be honest with me, Sandra. You're only making my stomach turn with how you're acting now!" Victor said sarcastically.

A flash of alarm crossed Sandra's features at his words. She thought she'd done well hiding her true intentions. She had no idea Victor already knew about her reconciliation with Fred.

Still, she quickly composed herself and sneered at Victor. "Fine, then. You're right—Fred agreed to be my boyfriend again last night. We've gotten back together.

"But what can you do about it? He's richer and more capable than you. You can't expect me to choose to spend the rest of my life with a peasant like you instead of him!"

Victor suppressed the anger that surged at the mocking look on Sandra's face. He snarled, "I don't want to waste my breath on you, Sandra. Get the fuck out of here!"

She laughed derisively. Then, she turned and left without another look back.

Victor returned to his room and lit another cigarette. He stared at the empty ceiling as his thoughts wandered.

Fred had returned to the country after completing his studies abroad and had gotten a managerial position at a large company. His salary had to be at least 20 thousand dollars a month.

Meanwhile, Victor had failed to find a suitable job after graduating, so he started working as a food delivery guy. He wanted to marry Sandra, so he'd put himself through the wringer over the past three years and made deliveries like his life depended on it.

Nothing had stopped him from working, and he could earn around 6,000 dollars each month. However, he couldn't afford a new house in Southwind City with such a meager salary.

That wasn't all. Sandra was materialistic, so she spent most of Victor's monthly salary. He basically had no savings, but he'd never complained about it or felt resentful. She was a prideful gold digger, but he couldn't deny that she was beautiful. She had a smoking hot body and was good in bed, too.

Victor decided to convince himself to think that he'd spent the past three years having a sugar baby. He wasn't losing out! In fact, he felt somewhat relieved now that she'd left him.

He no longer had to push himself so hard to save up for their wedding. Now that such a heavy burden had been removed from his shoulders, he felt an indescribable happiness. As for love… Fuck that shit! It wasn't like he would die without it!

Ding! [Host's heart detected as locked from love. Activating the Lucky Draw System now.]

Ding! [System initialization in progress. Please wait…]

Ding! [Host, Victor Seaworth, has successfully connected to the Lucky Draw System. Please check the introduction on the main page for detailed usage instructions.]

Suddenly, a succession of electronic notifications rang out in Victor's mind. He was dumbstruck. Was he hallucinating?

However, as he reached up to rub his eyes, a virtual 3D screen appeared before him. It showed him something.

[Wheel of Fortune]

[Available Draws: 3]

[Inventory: Empty]

He saw a large wheel with a red pointer and button. There were five cartoon images on the wheel—coins, cards, bottles, books, and a question mark. Each image covered a different section and color of the wheel, and the sections had different sizes.

The section for [Coins] was the largest, covering almost half the wheel. [Cards] was the second largest, covering about a quarter of the wheel. This was followed by [Bottles], then [Books]. Finally, the question mark, or [Chances], had the smallest section. It was barely a sliver on the wheel and wasn't even the width of a pinky finger.

To put it simply, the rarity of each item in ascending order was Coins, Cards, Bottles, Books, and Chances.

"What the fuck?" Victor cried. He rubbed his eyes again. When he realized the 3D screen was still floating before him, he felt like he was going to explode with excitement. He'd won a fucking cheat!

As a bookworm, he'd read more web novels than one could count. He knew exactly what a system and a cheat was—he just didn't expect that something fictional would actually happen to him in real life.

Whatever. It was time to see how this system worked!

"Where's the tutorial or usage instructions, System? Show it to me!" Victor thought.

In the next second, a new screen popped into view.

[Usage instructions for the Lucky Draw System:

[1. The Host has three chances to spin the wheel daily. The chances can be carried forward to the following day if not used on the same day.

[2. The rewards from the lucky draw will automatically be stored in the inventory. The Host can open it to check the item's detailed usage instructions.

[3. The system's inventory can only be used to store rewards issued by the system. Items from the real world cannot be stored there.

[4. The system reserves the right to the final interpretation of the lucky draw. In the event of major changes, the Host will be notified promptly.]

Chapter 2 Spin the Wheel

Victor only took a minute to familiarize himself with the system. "Heh! Let's try spinning the wheel, then."

He used his thoughts to press the button. In the next second, the pointer started spinning.

Yes, the pointer. Not the wheel.

The pointer spun clockwise at top speed, only slowing down about three seconds later. Finally, it landed on the [Coins] section.

Ding! [Congratulations! You've obtained ten million Drawstone dollars!]

Ding! [Please hold as your reward is distributed.]

Ding! [Ten million Drawstone dollars have been transferred to your bank account. The system guarantees that the source of the funds is legal and logical. It won't get you into any trouble!]

A series of notifications rang out again. Then, Victor received a message from the bank notifying him that he'd received funds.

"This is a message from Drawstone Bank. Your account ending in 5418 has received a fund transfer of ten million Drawstone dollars at 10:10 am on the 7th of July. Your balance is 10,000,520.48 dollars."

Victor was stunned. He didn't expect a simple spin of the wheel to turn him into a multi-millionaire just like that. Was he dreaming?

He pinched himself hard and winced as pain shot through him. He cursed his strength—he'd gone too hard. It hurt!

He exhaled deeply, his expression quickly morphing into one of exaltation. Since the system was so generous, he wouldn't want to let it down. He had two more chances to spin the wheel, so he would use them to the fullest!

He pressed the button again, and the pointer started spinning. Three seconds later, it stopped in the [Coins] sections again.

Ding! [Congratulations! You've won a Ferrari LaFerrari!]

Victor had yet to process the situation when an envelope appeared in his hand. He opened it curiously to see a car key, a vehicle registration card, a receipt of purchase, a tax receipt, an insurance policy, and everything else one would have when purchasing a car.

He held up the vehicle registration card and saw his name and the vehicle identification number on it—SW 666.

The system truly worked fast. In the blink of an eye, it had gotten all the necessary procedures done for Victor. It had even literally dropped the car key and everything else into his hand!

Victor didn't want to do anything other than give the system a big, fat thumbs-up!

"Oh, right. Where's my Ferrari LaFerrari parked, dude?" he asked the system.

Ding! [Your vehicle is parked at an underground parking lot nearby. The exact location has been sent to your phone.]

"Thanks, dude!"

Ding! [You're welcome.]

Victor wasn't in a hurry to look for the car. Instead, he pulled up the wheel of fortune screen and pressed the button once more. The pointer started spinning again.

This was his last chance to spin for the day, and he couldn't help feeling a little nervous. He fixed his gaze on the pointer, praying it would give him something grand to end the day.

It seemed his prayers had come true. Three seconds later, the pointer slowly moved past the [Coins] section and onto the [Cards] section.

It looked like luck was on his side! The pointer had already slowed. There was no way it would spin another round to the [Coins] section.

But would it stop in the [Cards] section? Or would it slowly glide past to the [Bottles] section? It was hard to tell.

Just then, the pointer slid past the [Cards] section and stopped at the edge of the [Bottles] section. Yes, the [Bottles] section!

It was barely past the line separating the two sections, but there was no denying it was in the [Bottles] section. Judging from the ascending order of the sizes of each section, the smaller the section, the rarer the reward. This meant the [Bottles] section was probably the third prize.

Ding! [Congratulations! You've won a potion!]

A bottle of red liquid suddenly appeared before the screen. Then, it was stored in the inventory.

What the hell was that? A potion? What could it do?

Victor hurriedly opened the inventory. A screen similar to inventories he'd seen in games appeared before him. It had over a hundred spaces for items. The bottle of red liquid lay in the first box of the first row.

[Gene Potion: Taking this will change your genes and strengthen your body. It will significantly improve your strength, agility, stamina, spirit, and vitality.]

What the fuck? A potion that could change one's genes and strengthen one's body? What was this, a science fiction movie? Could it really be that amazing?

With a thought, the Gene Potion appeared in Victor's hand. He opened it and chugged it down without a second thought. He had to say that it tasted great—sweet and sour, like a yogurt drink.

He quickly finished it and burped. In the next second, his expression became twisted. He felt like a ball of flame was burning in him, and he felt hot. No, he wasn't just hot now. He felt like he was going to explode!

At that moment, he suddenly heard his bones cracking and snapping. That wasn't the end. His muscles started twisting and twitching all over. He was in so much pain!

What the hell had that Gene Potion done to him? He was going to die from the pain!

Victor's eyes bulged, and his jaw went slack. He curled into a ball and writhed in agony on the bed. After some time, he felt his eyelids getting heavy and his heartbeat slowing. Even his vision was turning white.

Shit! Was he going to die?

He'd only just gotten a cheat; he'd yet to embark on his overpowered, triumphant life. He didn't want to die just like that!

He couldn't die! He had to live!

The desire to survive suddenly surged in him. Then, his eyes rolled to the back of his skull, and his head fell to the side.

He passed out on the bed.

Chapter 3 A Busty Beauty

In the afternoon, a ray of sunlight shone into Victor's room and landed on his face. He frowned before slowly opening his eyes. He stared at the ceiling dazedly for a few seconds before jolting and sitting up in bed.

He was alive? He hadn't died! Had he completed the gene transformation and come out stronger?

He got out of bed and shot to his closet. It was an old one with a full-length mirror on the door.

Victor was stunned when he saw himself in the mirror. "What the fuck? Is this me?"

Looking into the mirror had given him a shock. He didn't look like himself anymore—his face was still the same, but his demeanor had totally changed. If the old Victor was a warm, handsome young man, the new one was a regal gentleman akin to a god!

In other words, Victor had gone from being a somewhat handsome guy to a drop-dead gorgeous guy!

That wasn't the end of it. His demeanor wasn't the only thing that had changed.

His body, which had originally been a little on the thin side, was now stronger and toned. He had defined muscles, and the lines of his body were seductive, especially his washboard abs. He oozed pheromones and was a deadly weapon to all women!

More importantly, he felt like he had boundless energy. He looked spirited, revitalized, and more alive than ever. He felt like he wanted and could finish a marathon.

Was this what the Gene Potion had done to him? The effects were amazing!

Victor started moving around to see how strong he actually was now. With a light hop, his head almost touched the ceiling. He tried lifting weights and could easily lift the closet with one hand.

Then, he did 200 push-ups in one go, not stopping for any breaks in between. Amazingly enough, he didn't even break a sweat!

He was so powerful! He felt like his body was like a human tank or warship.

Half an hour later, Victor showered and changed his clothes. He grabbed his phone from the bedside table and checked the time. To his surprise, it was already past 4:00 pm. This meant he'd been knocked out for six hours after taking the Gene Potion.

He grabbed his wallet, the envelope with the car key, and everything else. Then, he left the room, wanting to search for his Ferrari.

When he opened the door, he saw a woman in the courtyard. She was crouching by the hose and washing her clothes.

He wondered what she was still doing there. Sandra had already moved out. Why hadn't she left with Sandra when they were best friends?

Victor headed to the woman. Her name was Susie York, and she was 25 this year. She was Sandra's college roommate slash best friend.

This rundown house was located in a remote location, so the rent was cheap. After graduating from college, Victor and Sandra rented the western room, and Susie took the eastern room. This meant Victor and Susie had been neighbors for three years.

That was beside the point. Susie was beautiful. She had bright eyes and a beauty mark under her right eye. It added a hint of gentleness to her otherwise sensual looks. She was a gentle seductress!

Her looks were breathtaking, and she had a hot body to go with it. She was a breasty woman—her breasts had to be at least 36D. When paired with her slender waist, it gave one the feeling that her breasts were all one could see.

There was more. Aside from her curvy body, she also had legs that went on for days.

However, birds of a feather flocked together. Victor knew very well that Susie and Sandra were the same on the inside—they were both materialistic gold diggers!

The only difference was that Sandra kept that side of her hidden while Susie wasn't afraid to tell the world that was exactly what she was.

Victor distinctly remembered Susie once saying something that turned into a classic phrase. "I'd rather cry in a BMW than laugh on a bicycle!"

Over the years, Susie had tried to find a rich boyfriend. Her dream was to marry into a wealthy family and turn into a trophy wife that countless women envied.

However, truly wealthy men were few and far between. Since joining the society and gaining more life experience, she gradually gave in to reality.

Susie didn't come from an influential family, nor could she achieve great things. Marrying into a wealthy family and becoming the lady of the household was close to impossible. Her dream was basically shattered.

Soon, however, she had a new dream. Since she couldn't become a rich man's wife, she would be his mistress!

Nowadays, poverty was the one thing people looked down upon. As long as she had boundless money, Susie didn't care about being a man's proper wife and having a proper identity!

"Why didn't you leave with Sandra, you little bitch?" Victor approached Susie and scanned her boldly. He couldn't help admiring her face and body. She was leagues above Sandra!

How could he have been so blind in the past? Why had he forgone all the fish in the sea for Sandra? Why had he been so hung up on her? It was such a waste of time!

Southwind City in July was already sweltering. To counter the heat, Susie had on a skimpy white camisole and white shorts. Those were beside the point, though. The point was that she was truly smoking hot!

The camisole was tight because of her figure, and she looked like she would spill out of it at any second. With every scrub she gave her clothes, her boobs would jiggle.

Susie bristled like a cat whose tail had been stepped on when she heard Victor's words. "Who are you calling a little bitch, Victor? Who the hell do you think you are? Say it again if you have the balls!"

She threw her clothes into the pail before turning to give him a death stare. However, she was taken aback in the next second. Her eyes widened, and her jaw went slack as she gaped at him like she'd seen a ghost. There was a look of disbelief on her face.

"What the fuck? Did you get plastic surgery, Victor?" she cried after finally returning to her senses.

"Fuck that shit. Do you think I look like I've gone under the knife?" Victor snorted. He gave her a disdainful look.

"Why do you… why do you suddenly look so handsome, then?" Susie flicked the water off her hands. Then, she hurried to Victor and scrutinized his face up close. She observed every inch of his face, even reaching out to touch it.

He grabbed her wrist and said scornfully, "Don't get your detergent and bubbles on my face!"

"Tsk! You're such a scrooge!" She flushed slightly and retracted her hand.

"I'll give you a chance to latch onto a rich guy, little bitch. Do you want it?" Victor smiled mysteriously, a hint of slyness flashing in his eyes.

"Call me that one more time, and I'll—" Susie exploded again at how Victor addressed her but stopped abruptly after processing his words. "What did you just say? Are you going to introduce me to someone rich and handsome?"

Victor snorted, his expression becoming contemptuous. "I know a guy who's super-rich. Do you want to drive an expensive car, stay in a lavish mansion, and buy bags and luxury products to your heart's content? Do you want to have boundless money to spend?

"This rich friend of mine isn't just young and handsome. He's also very generous! I'll introduce him to you on one condition—I want you to call me Daddy!"

Chapter 4 Wrapped Around His Finger

Susie was absent-mindedly scrubbing a red shirt. She didn't notice that she was almost making a hole in it from her scrubbing.

Victor stood beside her without saying anything. His attention was on the shirt—he couldn't help noticing how much space there was in the chest region. He felt like he could fit two bowls in it.

Susie suddenly thought of something as she scrubbed away. She turned to look at Victor, her expression wary. "You're not playing a prank on me because you've lost your mind after Sandra dumped you, right?"

"You have air for brains, Susie." Victor smiled disdainfully. "It's not like you're the one who dumped me. I should be going after the culprit if I want revenge, right? Why would I pull your leg?"

"So… you were being serious earlier?" She looked into his eyes, seemingly wanting to see whether she could catch him lying.

He couldn't be bothered to explain himself further. He pulled out the Ferrari's key from the envelope and waved it in her face, his smile sly. "Take a look at this, little bitch."

She immediately recognized the logo on it. "A Ferrari?"

Her eyes lit up. Then, they turned doubtful. "This isn't a lighter, is it?"

"What the fuck? Check it for yourself to see whether it's a lighter!" Victor snapped.

"Let me see…"

"Wipe your hands first, little bitch! Don't dirty my car key!"

Susie was captivated by the car key, so she ignored Victor calling her a little bitch again.

This was the power of money! Even someone as proud as Susie had to lower her head in the face of it!

"Whoa, it really is a Ferrari's car key!" Susie exclaimed. "Did your rich friend lend this to you? Where is it parked? Show it to me!"

Her expression turned into one of joy. She clutched the car key tightly, refusing to return it to Victor. She even insisted on him taking her to the car.

Damn, she was such a gold digger! Her eyes were brighter than headlights at the mention of an expensive sports car—she was practically drooling!

"My condition remains unchanged, little bitch. Call me Daddy, and I'll take you out for a spin in the Ferrari LaFerrari. I'll even introduce my friend to you!" Victor swiped the car key back from Susie when she wasn't paying attention. Then, he wiped it with a tissue, looking scornful.

"What? Did you just say it's a LaFerrari? The LaFerrari that's a legend even among sports cars? The one that's worth five million dollars? The limited-edition model that only has 499 units worldwide?"

Her jaw dropped, and she stared at him in astonishment. She didn't even react to him snatching the car key from her.

"The very one. The Ferrari LaFerrari!" Victor put the car key into his pocket and checked the time on his phone. "My rich friend wants to have dinner with me. It's getting late…"

Before he could finish, Susie darted forward and grabbed his arm with both hands. Her actions surprised him. "What are you doing?"

He wanted to push her away when he felt her breasts press against his arm. He fell silent. Only an idiot would let this opportunity to take advantage of her slip away!

What happened next surprised him. Susie swung his arm gently before biting her lip and saying coquettishly, "Daddy…"

"You're so slutty, little bitch!" He moved his arm surreptitiously, seemingly trying to get a better feel of her breasts. He concluded that they were all natural. There was nothing fake about them!

She released him with a frown and glared. "Don't cross the line, Victor! I've already done what you asked and called you… you-know-what! You have to introduce me to your rich friend tonight!"

Victor didn't say anything. He merely looked at her with the slightest hint of a smile. She thought he was playing her and was about to fly off the handle when he said, "Are you going to meet my friend while dressed like that? Don't you need to change and put on some makeup?"

"Huh?" Susie was taken aback. Then, she looked down at herself. She couldn't see her toes because her chest was in the way, but she knew she wasn't presentable enough to leave the house.

"Give me a second, Victor. I'll get changed right now!"

With that, she ran into her room. Perhaps worried that he would stand her up, she opened the door right after shutting it.

She poked her head out and snarled, "Wait for me in the courtyard. Don't leave without me, or I'll kill you!"

Then, she slammed the door shut again.

Victor lit a cigarette. He knew women took a long time to get ready. Susie wouldn't emerge from her room within the next hour. So, he took out his phone and started surfing the web.

After some consideration and comparison, he reserved the presidential suite at the Grand Empire Hotel, a five-star hotel. The suite cost 20 thousand dollars a night, and he reserved it for a week.

As soon as he made the payment, he received a call from the hotel. "Hello, am I speaking to Mr. Victor Seaworth?"

"Yeah, that's me," Victor said.

"Good day, Mr. Seaworth! Thank you for reserving a stay at Grand Empire Hotel's presidential suite. I'm your designated butler, Queenie White. You can address me as Ms. White." A nice-sounding female voice rang out on the other end of the line.

She chattered on for a while. Basically, she wanted to know whether Victor needed a car to pick him up and take him to the hotel. She also wanted to know whether he needed the hotel to arrange dinner for him.

The hotel would assign a butler to attend to any guest who stayed in the presidential suite. The butler's service would be available around the clock.

Victor rejected the pick-up service but asked Queenie to reserve him a table at the revolving restaurant on the hotel's top floor.

It was clear that he was going to make his move on Susie that night. She was Sandra's best friend, and the mere thought of sleeping with his ex's best friend got him excited!

Chapter 5 Drop the Act

Susie finally emerged from her room at 5:00 pm. To Victor's pleasure, she hadn't just put on makeup. She'd also changed into a sexy dress.

Her long hair fell past her shoulders in curls, and her makeup was done in a cold, icy style. When paired with her sultry eyes, it showed off her unique beauty.

Her halter-neck dress was black and contrasted starkly with her flawless skin. It fit her like a glove and perfectly displayed her hourglass figure. She paired the dress with open-toed stilettos that showed off her red nails. She was unbelievably alluring.

"Do I look good?" Susie strutted toward Victor while holding a black clutch. She even flipped her hair over her shoulder while sashaying.

"Yeah. You look like the slut you are. I'll give you full marks for that." He snapped his fingers and turned to leave the courtyard.

"Hey, wait up!" she cried.

"What are those long legs for? Can't you keep up with me?" he retorted.

"Who is this friend of yours, Victor? Why haven't I ever heard of you having such a rich friend?"

"There's plenty you don't know about me. Why should I tell you all about myself?"

Just like that, Victor and Susie squabbled all the way to the car. She was pissed at him, and he looked down on her. Yet they both looked good—they looked like a squabbling couple, which drew the attention of the people they passed.

Over ten minutes later, Victor brought Susie to an underground parking lot. Even from a distance, they could see the bright red sports car parked in a corner. It was the Ferrari LaFerrari!

It was one of the three legendary supercars with only 499 units worldwide and was worth five million dollars. There it was, parked in an underground parking lot like any other car.

The uniquely captivating luxury supercar had a streamlined body and innovative design. The paint gleamed, and the car was eye-catching no matter which angle one admired it from.

Victor pulled out the car key and pressed the button. The Ferrari's headlights flashed twice, as did the horn. The car was unlocked. He suppressed his joy as he hurried to it. However, he'd yet to get into the car after opening the car when a shrill scream stopped him.

"It really is a Ferrari LaFerrari! Stop right there, Victor!" Susie charged at him and stopped him from getting in. She stuffed her phone into his hand.

"What do you want?" He reflexively held it, looking dazed.

"Hurry up and take a couple of photos of me! I want to share them on my Instagram!" She strutted to the front of the car and posed sexily.

Victor was at a loss for words.

Half an hour later, his expression turned impatient. They'd only agreed to take a couple of photos, but he'd already taken a dozen of them for Susie. However, she still didn't think they were enough.

He flung the phone back at her and shot into the driver's seat. His mood instantly improved when he saw the lavish upholstery. It was such a cool sports car, and it was now his!

He shut the door, put on his seatbelt, and adjusted his seat and the rearview mirror.

Victor adjusted everything per what he'd learned when getting his driver's license. Then, he carefully started the car. The engine roared to life, making the parking lot tremble under its might.

He was ignited when he felt the car come to life and rumble underneath him. Just then, the front passenger door opened, and Susie got in, looking upset.

"What the hell, Victor? How could you be so impatient when I only wanted you to take a couple of photos? No wonder Sandra broke up with you. I would've kicked you to the curb ages ago if I had a boyfriend like you!"

Victor's expression turned ugly when he heard that. He turned to her and looked at her icily. "Who gave you the nerve to talk to me like that, little bitch?"

"What the hell has gotten into you today? Who gave you the nerve to keep calling me that? Say that one more time, and I'll skin you alive!" Susie finally lost it and screamed at him.

He'd already called her a little bitch countless times that afternoon. Even the biggest pushover had a temper, let alone someone as proud as Susie, who used to be the belle of Southwind College. How could she let Victor off the hook when he constantly insulted her?

"Get the fucking hell out of my car, Susie!" Victor shouted. "I've changed my mind—I'm not taking you out for a nice meal tonight, little bitch. Fuck off and stay as far away from me as possible!"

He wasn't going to give in to Susie's temper tantrum. He'd already put up with Sandra's bullshit for three years.

He'd obeyed and complied with her every request. To be accurate, he'd acted like her slave and gone along with everything she wanted. Yet what had he gotten out of it? He'd lost her to another man!

Fortunately, his life had turned around after Sandra had left him. How could he make the same mistakes?

Susie was pretty, but Victor only wanted to fool around with her. He wouldn't walk right into another hellhole for the sake of a gold digger.

"How dare you shout at me, Victor! And you even have the nerve to tell me to fuck off? Do you think I have to suck up to you and act like your subject just because you're going to introduce me to someone rich? Who do you think I am?"

Susie was furious. She glared at Victor while gnashing her teeth, and her chest heaved with anger.

"You can drop the act around me, Susie. Who was the one who swore she would rather cry in a BMW than laugh on a bicycle?" Victor snorted contemptuously. He pulled out a cigarette from his pocket and placed it between his lips while lighting it.

Susie's expression was hideous. Her lips trembled as she tried to come up with a retort. When she looked at him and saw him smoking, she immediately snapped, "Put that out, Victor! I hate the smell of cigarettes!"

"It's none of your fucking business if I want to smoke." He glanced at her and took a deep drag of his cigarette. Then, he blew it in her face.

"Go to hell, Victor!" She covered her nose and mouth with a scowl. "Don't forget that this isn't your car—it belongs to your rich and handsome friend! He's only loaned it to you! Can you afford to pay him back if you spoil the upholstery when your cigarette ash gets on it?"

Victor was amused when he heard that. Instead of saying anything, he flung the envelope that contained the vehicle registration card, purchase receipt, and insurance policy at her. "Open your eyes wide and take a good look at that. Tell me who this car belongs to!"

He stepped on the accelerator without caring about whether she was buckled in. The Ferrari roared and shot forward, heading to the parking lot's exit.

Chapter 6 Susie's Friends

A red Ferrari LaFerrari sped along the road. Victor controlled the steering wheel with one hand while seated leisurely in the driver's seat. With his other hand, he tapped on the control console and played a song. A soothing melody soon filled the car.

Susie sat in the front passenger seat. She held a vehicle registration card and stared at the name on it, her expression incredulous. "This car… Victor, is it really yours?"

She returned to her senses after a long time and turned to look at Victor, her expression still one of disbelief and shock.

"Aren't you asking the obvious? It's not like anyone else's name is on the vehicle registration card. Or do you think the purchase receipt, agreement, and insurance policy are all forged?" He snorted. He continued driving with one hand. Then, he placed his other hand on her thigh.

She blushed, and her gaze became shifty. "You—"

"Don't move!" Victor cut her off. "We're all adults here. Can't you be more sensible?"

His words infuriated her, but something occurred to her before she could fly off the handle. She bit her lip hard and swallowed the curses on the tip of her tongue. "Why do you suddenly have the money to buy a Ferrari, Victor?"

She decided to endure this before getting to the bottom of the situation. There was no big deal with letting him feel her up a little bit. She wouldn't lose anything!

Besides, if Victor really were secretly rich, she'd be losing the opportunity to marry into a rich family if she were to offend him. It helped that he looked particularly handsome that day. There was something charming about him—she wasn't losing out by letting him touch her!

"Ha! I accidentally inherited a huge fortune—I'm rich now!" Victor chuckled. At the same time, he hooked a finger and played with Susie's dress.

"Victor, you—be careful. Don't ruin my dress," she said.

"I'll buy you ten new ones if I ruin it!"

"I'll hold you to it!"

"I'll buy you a street of shops if you please me!"

Once the initial embarrassment passed, Susie got used to Victor's fingers being on her and slowly relaxed. She turned to him and asked curiously, "Aren't you an orphan, Victor? Where did you inherit this fortune from?"

"I have a grandfather who's a businessman in another country. He made a ton of money but isn't long for this world after falling gravely ill. He sent someone to this country to search for me and left me all of his money before his death…" Victor explained.

He made up a story. Susie was too dumb to tell whether it was true, anyway. Besides, money was what she cared about. The story didn't matter to her.

Sure enough, her eyes lit up upon hearing his tale. "How much did you inherit? Was this Ferrari part of your inheritance?"

"It's none of your business!" He rolled his eyes, looking mocking.

"Come on, don't be like this! Tell me, Vic!" Susie gave him a coquettish look. There was a hint of brown-nosing on her alluring face.

"Calling me that isn't going to get you anywhere. Call me Daddy!" Victor said. He retracted his hand and stopped playing with her dress. After all, safety came first when driving. He could figure out the mechanics of the dress at any time. There was no rush.

"Tell me, Daddy! I'm really curious!" Susie was a proud woman, but she was willing to forgo her pride and dignity for the sake of money. Not only did she lean close to him, but she also clung to his arm and shook it a little. She did a perfect job of being coquettish!

"Make a guess! And don't disturb me when I'm driving!"

With that, Victor clutched the steering wheel tightly and focused on the road. It seemed he didn't want to bother with her anymore.

She pouted at that and released him, feeling upset. At the same time, she cursed him for being petty. However, her mood soon improved.

She'd earlier selected a few photos with the LaFerrari and shared them on her Instagram. It had only been a short while, but she already had more than 99 likes and comments on the post.

Susie also had a group chat with her best friends, which had now exploded. Everyone was tagging her in the chat. She ignored her Instagram for the time being and checked the group chat.

Lily Fischer: "Isn't that a Ferrari LaFerrari, Suze? When did you get to know someone so rich?"

Clara Snowden: "Do you have a boyfriend now, Suze?"

Annabel Lane: "When are you going to introduce your rich and handsome boyfriend to us, Suze?"

Catherine Gray: "Suze, are you dressed so sexily today because you're going on a date with your boyfriend?"

Sandra: "When did you get a boyfriend, Suze? Why didn't I hear anything about it?"

Yes, Sandra was part of the group chat!

Perhaps out of diffidence, Susie reflexively glanced at Victor when she saw Sandra's message. Her fingers flew across the phone as she typed a reply.

Susie: "This is my first date with him today, everyone. I'll introduce him to all of you after some time."

She wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but she also wasn't a complete fool. She didn't reveal anything about Victor. He was Sandra's ex-boyfriend, after all, and everyone in the group chat knew him.

She knew exactly what her best friends were like. If they were to find out that Victor had inherited a huge fortune, they would start to covet him and think of ways to take him away. Wouldn't she just be getting herself a bunch of rivals in winning his heart?

Besides, Sandra was also part of the group. As everyone said, one's current partner would never compare to the last. With how well Susie understood Sandra, she knew the latter would regret breaking up with him and seek him out for a reconciliation once she knew how rich he was.

Susie wouldn't let that happen. Victor would be hers and only hers! Even if Sandra was one of her best friends, she wouldn't give him up!

She continued texting her friends but refused to give them even the slightest hint of Victor's details. At the same time, she couldn't help wondering just how much money Victor had inherited.

The car alone was worth five million dollars—that meant he'd inherited at least a hundred million dollars, right? Could it be he'd inherited… a billion dollars? Ten billion dollars? A trillion dollars?

She sucked in a breath at the thought of Victor being a trillionaire at his age. That would make him countless women's Prince Charming!

Whatever it was, she would never let him slip out of her hands!
